Definition:
[ah-lah jehn-oh-EEZ; ah-lah jehn-oh-VEEZ] Italian for "as prepared in the style of Genoa," a seaport city in northwest Italy. Specifically, it means a dish made or accompanied with pesto sauce, which originated in Genoa.
