Definition: [ahn-tee-PAHS-toh; an-tee-PAST-oh] Literally meaning "before the pasta," this Italian term refers to hot or cold hors d'oeuvre. An assortment of antipasti could include appetizers such as cheese, smoked meats, olives, fish and marinated vegetables.
